HHPLift: Creating quality jobs for people who need them most
Imagine a community where everyone - no matter their past or life story - has a fair chance at employment and the opportunity to rebuild their lives.
At HHPLift, we believe that everyone deserves access to meaningful and gainful employment. Since 2015, we have committed to bringing job training and employment to individuals from underserved communities.
We provide employment to those who are justice-involved, housing insecure, and with physical or intellectual disabilities. To date, we have provided over 123,000 hours of paid, immersive job and leadership training to 230 individuals from 36 different communities across Chicagoland.
This holiday season, we are asking for your support. Your gift makes an immediate, tangible impact. It provides stable employment, hope, and the foundation for self-sufficiency. Thank you for your generosity.
How you are helping - Meet Shanika!
Shanika was a supervisor at Chase Bank, leading a team of over 30 people. But as technology replaced night deposits, the bank started making cuts, and just before Christmas, she lost her job. Deciding to embrace the holiday season, she planned to job-hunt in the new year - until disaster struck. Shanika lost her home to a devastating fire, leaving her not only unemployed but homeless. With her children, she moved in with a parent, determined to rebuild from the ground up.
Shanika found HHPLift through a partner organization creating job pathways for people facing poverty and homelessness. Shanika’s dedication and spirit stood out to us and we hired her. She thrived in her role and was soon promoted to manage our warehouse. HHPLift gave her stability during a crucial moment, positioning her to pursue greater opportunities.
Today, Shanika is a business director at a wellness company in Chicago and a proud homeowner. Shanika, like each Program Associate who walks through our doors finds more than just a job; they find mentorship, skills, stability, and a renewed sense of purpose. With your help, HHPLift can continue empowering people like Shanika and so many others.
